Tabby

Tabs,

I know what you were probably thinking after seeing me at that cafĂ© with Jodi. But trust me, it wasn’t what you thought. She needed my help with finding an apartment for her and her 2 month old daughter in the LA area and I had agreed to show her around. Did you know that she got married?
Anyway, you’re my best friend and I’m sorry I was shutting you out recently, but I had a surprise planned for you. I’m sorry that Cherry offered me the letter and not you, but I told Cherry that I wouldn’t go into fashion school—I prefer singing the blues and Jazz down in New Orleans.
I love you, Tabs. Ever since you moved to San Diego, I’ve always been watching you. I’ve been by your side. You’re my best friend, you’re my lover, and I hope something more. You know I’m not one for cheezy, romantic shit, but I try.
I know that you’d be in LA today, so I decided to take some time off work to drive down and surprise you with my surprise. I had asked Steph to keep you busy helping backstage because you seem to be good at that. Maybe that’s what you should do—I know how happy you are about that.
I know I don’t have to worry about you cheating on me with those Diva’s or Superstars. I know that you love me and wouldn’t hurt me like that.

I love you, and maybe we’re still too young for this, but hey, what do they always say, “Young love?” or whatever? I wrote a song for you called “Til the Casket Drops”. I left a recording of it on your desk.  So now, I just have to ask you this question:
Will you marry me?
I love you,
Always yours,

Olive

Kat

Kat,

Do you have any idea how angry and hurt it makes us to watch you with Tabby? You let her move to San Diego when you would hardly let me, Adri, or Mikey do anything. We had to fight you at every turn just to go to the mall. You spoil her, too. Then you’d go all emo on us almost all the time. No wonder none of us wanted to go home. We wanted to stay at the ranch!
I hated living at that house with you and dad. Though, dad was awesome to live with. I loved staying at the ranch and being Jinny’s roommate. Mikey and Adri loved it there too.
The only salvation I got was at the ranch and school. Even when I was pregnant with Justice, I didn’t want to have you near her, but Jinny had changed my mind about that. To this day, Justice doesn’t even know who you are.
I’m jealous of Tabby. Adri and Mikey are too and it’s not fair. But, we three are all grown up now. It’s probably too late to fix what happened anyway.
We don’t consider Tabby to be our sister. We all hate her. But Layna, on the other hand, we do. We visit her, Dave, and Drew whenever we’re in town and they let us take her for a few days or whatever. Layna loves to go with us—she’s so happy, talkative, and curious. Her and Justice get along great.
I just thought I’d say that. Other than that Mikey and Adri are doing fine. They refuse to speak or even visit you.

Artemis
By: Rio

Derek and I started a new school today. He looked a little nervous, but I just offered him a kind smile and told him that it’ll be alright. We didn’t have any classes together, but we had lunch. I handed my schedule to the librarian as she smiled at me.
“Artemis, huh?” She asked as I nodded
“Ah, her twin brother is Apollo, and her Roman name is Diana” A male Southern accent said from behind us. I turned and found…My eyes widened as I realized who it was. Christian Black. My dad’s best friend.
“Christian.” The librarian laughed softly as he smiled
“I’m Christian Black. I’m the AP English 11 teacher” He introduced himself as we shook hands.
“I’m Artemis and this is my little brother, Derek” I introduced as they shook hands. Derek got his text books already.
“It looks as if you’re in my morning class, Artemis. First period” He said as I looked at my schedule.
True enough, there it was. I smiled faintly and nodded. I got my text books as we left. Derek and I left to find our lockers. I found mine and Derek was on the other side and down the hall. Some people were watching us, but I shrugged it off. The bell rang as everybody made their way to their class. I waved at Derek and wished him good luck.
I found a seat in the back of the class—school had already started and I’m coming in on the 6th day. I’d have some catching up to do—maybe. Today, I’m wearing my Beatles shirt and skinny jeans with my boots. My hair was in a messy bun and I wore what I usually wear for jewelry. For make-up, I’m just wearing eye liner and eye shadow.
Mr. Black came in and smiled at me as I noticed the novel we’d be reading. Then I smiled because I’ve read it before. But, on a side note, for those of you who don’t know—I’m a huge fan of The Beatles. I know every single song by heart and I own every single album. I have 2 or 3 posters and I own a bunch of Beatles clothes. I play guitar and piano and a bunch of other instruments. I’m a huge sci-fi freak and I love going to cons—but that’s my geekier side.
Class went on as the bell rang. I gathered my things as Mr. Black called my name. I went over to his desk.
            “Yes?” I asked
“I noticed you smiling throughout class. May I ask what you were smiling at?” He asked as I chuckled softly.
“You have a few Beatle posters. I love The Beatles” I stated as he laughed softly
“A true Beatles fan, eh?” He asked as I nodded
“I got autographs from Ringo and Paul” I stated as he smiled
“I have autographs from all of them” My eyes widened
Now, I’m jealous.
“My father got them” He laughed at my expression
I left as his other class started filling in. I had a feeling that Mr. Black and I were going to get along just fine.
***
My day is going by just fine. I had lunch with Derek and he even signed up for a club. Me? I’m still undecided, so I hung out and waited for Derek. I was sitting in the cafeteria, working on my math when Mr. Black sat across from me. I paused in my problem and blinked at him as I slide my glasses on my face.
            “Hello, Mr. Black” I greeted
“Hello, Ms. Calaway” He greeted back
“How are things?” I asked as he shrugged
“How was your first day?” He asked as I shrugged
“It was good. Everybody I met was nice. All my teachers are okay”
I hide my grin at his pout.
“I’m just okay?” My lips twitched as a laugh threatened to come forth.
“Christian! We have that meeting!” The principal exclaimed, calling him as he got up and gave me a parting smile and left.
“He’s the most hottest teacher around” A female voice said from behind me.
I looked and there was Kayla. She’s also in my English class. She has neon purple hair and a bright yellow Mohawk.
            “What’s his story?” I asked
I learned that Kayla knew everybody. What they’re doing, how they did it, etc.
“Well, he’s originally from New Orleans, he was an FBI agent in DC, then he became a teacher” She answered, “Oh. He’s not married, he’s not an asshole, and he’s not gay, either. He doesn’t have any kids. He has a dog”
“How do you know all this?” I asked
“He told us on the first day of class” She answered, “But not the asshole or gay part”
“Why would he go from an FBI agent to a teacher?” I asked as she shrugged
“I’ve been asking myself that question also. But he is gorgeous.” I nodded and agreed
“I have a feeling you and I will become very good friends, Artie”
I twitched. Hard. I hated being called Artie. She must have noticed as she laughed.
“Sorry, sorry. I had to see what your reaction would be. I hate being called Kay”
“Hey, Art! Ready to go home?” Derek called out as I nodded
“Hey” He nodded towards Kayla as she nodded back.
I packed up my stuff as Kayla and I exchanged numbers. We all parted ways as Derek and I went to my car. I’ve had this car for about a year and I love it. We put our bags in the backseat and got in.
“How was it?” I asked as he shrugged
“Okay. Nothing to write home about” Was his response as he turned on the radio.
He then looked at the selection of CDs that rested on my passenger side visor. I have one on the driver’s side as well. He took out my Beatles one and replaced it with Forever the Sickest Kids. Their song “What do you want from me” came through the speakers as we talked about our day.
When we pulled up, our parents were sitting outside, laughing with…Oh My God!
“Dude! Isn’t that your English teacher?!” Derek exclaimed, eyes wide. I about crashed my car out of shock.
“Holy shit, dude!” I swore as I safely parked the car as we got out and grabbed our bags.
When we walked up to them, my mom smiled at us.
“How did your first day go?” She asked
Derek answered, but I was still staring at Christian with shock on my face.
“Artemis!” My dad stated, waving a hand in my face as I snapped out of it
“W-what?” I stuttered, a blush staining my cheeks
“This is—“He started, “Christian Black. I know, dad. He’s my English teacher!” I finished.
            “Ah-ha!” The adults laughed
“Christian and I went to college together. We were roommates. Played college football” Our dad explained as I just nodded dumbly.
We all headed into the house, Derek still talking to mom as I headed upstairs.
“You’re not staying down here? We have company!” Mom stated
“I’ve got a lot of homework, mom… Oh. That reminds me…” I dug into my backpack and pulled out some papers and handed them to Christian.
“I’m done with all these” I stated as he took them.
Dad and Christian headed for dad’s den as I headed upstairs.
***
A short while later, mom called me down for dinner. I marked my book as I went downstairs. Christian was still here and he got to sit next to me. Tonight, we were having taco casserole. Derek’s favorite. But, being lactose intolerant, mom made me something else. God, being LI sucks. I can’t have scrambled eggs; I can’t have anything with a milk base. They have pills for it, but I just don’t bother.
“What are you having?” Christian asked me as I poked my chicken salad
“Chicken salad. I’m lactose intolerant, so I can’t eat taco casserole” I informed him
But I wasn’t very hungry, so I ate bits and pieces. I only ate half of mine.
“May I be excused?” I asked as my dad nodded. I wasn’t avoiding Christian, honest.
I washed my hands as I grabbed my book off the shelf in the kitchen, sat at the breakfast bar and waited for everybody else to finish. It was my night to dishes.
Soon enough, everybody came in with their dishes. I marked my place and began to wash them, putting them in the dishwasher.
“I’m not avoiding you” I told him when he leaned next to the sink.
“I know. This must be weird—“I cut him off
“I’ve had weirder, Mr. Black” I stated
“You can call me Christian outside of school” He said as I glanced at him.
I’ve seen him in pictures with my dad. He was one of my dad’s best men at his wedding. I vaguely remember him as a child, but he’s one of my dad’s closest and trusted friends. I finished with the dishes and cleaning the kitchen up from dinner. Mom had set out coffee and dessert in the living room on the coffee table. I didn’t really stay down there, but dad did give Christian the tour.
I was in my room, listening to Pandora on my Mac and sitting at my desk, when a knock came at my door. I told whoever it was to “Enter” and in came Derek. He shut the door and sat on my window seat.
“You usually don’t knock” I stated, turning to face him as he shrugged
“Sup?” I asked as he sighed
“You know that club I signed up for?” He asked as I nodded, frowning
            “What about it?” I asked
“One of the guys hit on me afterward” He admitted, blushing as I swallowed in an attempt not to laugh.
“What did you do?” I asked
“I just said I have to go”
I shook my head
            “What?” He asked
            “Nothing, nothing”
“What was with you tonight?” He asked as I raised an eyebrow
            “What are you talking about?”
“With Christian. You like… made yourself scarce”
I shrugged
“I had homework” I defended as he rolled his eyes
“That’s not all he had” He teased
“Oh right. Like you didn’t have one over your science teacher!” I exclaimed, laughing at his horrified face
“Did anybody else see that?!” He asked as I shook my head
            “No”
***
Tonight is Sunday and my day was pretty uneventful. I went to work (I work at Buffalo Wild Wings as a waitress), paid my cell phone bill, paid insurance and then came home. Oh yeah, I also got gas in my car. I love my car. I have a Buick Verano. I love working at BWW; why? Because my co-workers are hilarious—so is my boss. I’ve been working there for a year and I love it (like I said above). My boss is really nice and is flexible with my schedule.
Tonight, mom just made stew and bread. It was mom and dad at the end, and me and Derek at the sides.
“Have you picked out any names for the twins yet?” Derek asked after he swallowed as they shook their heads
“You going for the Greek theme again?” I asked, smiling when dad winked at me.
“I don’t know yet” Mom answered
“How about Luna for a girl and Remus for a boy?” I suggested
“Harry Potter? Really?” Derek asked, throwing a piece of bread at me as I caught it, rolling my eyes.
“Hey, if it weren’t for me, your name would be Frederick” I stated, smirking faintly at his look of horror
“I like it. Luna and Remus” Mom said, looking at dad as he nodded. I grinned
“Then who picked your name out?” Derek asked me
            “’Thena did.” I answered
After dinner got over, it was Derek’s turn to wash the dishes, so I washed my hands and headed upstairs for some much needed sleep. I was exhausted.
***
Ugh. Monday morning and my alarm is shrilling like crazy. I reached out a hand to slap it off, managing to knock it to the floor, but at least that incessant noise is gone. I groaned and rolled out of bed, stretching as I yawned. I picked up my alarm clock and put it back onto my nightstand, and then I proceeded to do my morning routine: Brush teeth, shower, and dry hair, get dressed, and then brush my hair and do something with it. I felt something flutter in my stomach as I realized I would be seeing Christian again. Oh my. I walked into the kitchen to find my parents talking. Dad was at the table reading the paper and drinking his coffee, while mom was at the stove, making breakfast. Derek was still upstairs. I made myself some Pumpkin Spice Tea and sat across from my dad. Mom set a plate of pancakes and runny eggs in front of me. I thanked her and began to eat.
“You’re not wearing your glasses” Dad said when he put his paper down as mom set his breakfast in front of him.
“I don’t need them all the time, dad” I said, chewing my pancake.
“I know, but still” He said as I rolled my eyes
“They’re in my backpack. I wear them during all of my classes. That’s when I really need them or if I’m reading or whatever” I said as he rolled his eyes
“I was there when the eye doctor told you all of that” He informed me, eyebrow raised
Just then, Derek walked downstairs all dressed and ready to go. He sat at the breakfast nook and scarfed his breakfast down.
“Don’t forget about your appointment for your braces today” Mom reminded him as he groaned, “So that means come home right after school”
Our mom’s a good driver. Dad said she made a good transition from living on Asgard to living on Earth. Of course, she goes back to Asgard and meets up with Thor whenever possible, but other than that…
Anyway, I got my car when I was 16 as a birthday present. Mom and dad said that I had pulled all A’s and didn’t get into any trouble and they said because I earn whatever I want to get, they figured they’d buy me a car. I love it. It’s blue. They said because they bought it, then I could pay insurance and payments on it. Which was fine with me. My job pays enough for me to do that—and make payments on my cell phone.
Derek and I left for school at 7am, and we got there at 7:42. Our new school is a 42 minute drive from our house.
“Are you excited to see Christian?” He asked as I flushed, whacking him as he laughed
“He’s my teacher” I huffed, turning into the school parking lot.
“So?” He asked as I rolled my eyes
I parked as we grabbed our stuff and went inside. I dropped my stuff at my locker and headed to English. When I arrived, I sat in my seat. Christian looked up and smiled at me. I smiled faintly and took out a piece of paper and began sketching.
“Good mornin’, Ms. Calaway” He greeted, a hint of amusement in his voice
“Good morning, Mr. Black” I greeted back, glancing up at him
“How are you?” He asked as I shrugged, my glasses on my face
            “Could be better”
Right when he was about to ask why, the bell rang. Students were now sitting in their seats and class began.
***
About half way through class, thunder boomed really loud outside. My windows were rolled up in my car and the only I had to worry about was hail. Big hail; it was kind of weird seeing Christian out of school, but I remember him as a child. Who knew he would become a teacher? I’ll have to ask.
***
I sat in my AP Physics class, taking notes. Apparently we’re having a test tomorrow and we’re getting a study guide (with an answer key) to check our answers. Oh fun. I work tonight also.
***
At lunch, I decided to go into Christian’s classroom. No doubt, there he was, eating lunch and grading papers. I sat in a desk in front of him as he smiled at me.
“What can I do for you?” He asked
“Can I ask you a…personal question?” I asked as he tilted his head
            “Sure”
“Why did you decide to become an English teacher? I mean… Why leave the FBI?” I asked
He smiled and laughed
            “That’s two questions, Artemis.”
I shrugged
“I can’t tell you why I left the FBI, but I can answer why I became a teacher. I became a teacher because I love English. I wanted to teach it to other kids” He explained
I must have had a troubled look on my face because he sighed
“I resigned from the FBI. I’ve been working there since I was 23 years old.”
That’s right! Dad said he was a Navy Seal. He went in at 18, and came out at 22. He went on top secret missions. He should’ve stayed a Navy Seal. Even when I was growing up, I remembered how hot he was in his uniform.
“You should’ve stayed a Seal, Christian” I murmured, watching his reaction
He gave me an amused smile
“Who says I’m not a Seal anymore?” He murmured back

My eyes widened. Holy shit… Right when I was about to comment, he smiled at me and winked.

Artemis

Artemis
By: Rio

            I groaned when I got my math quiz back. It had a big fat F on it. God, I have to be pretty damn dumb. I mean, I’m in my junior year of high school, for God’s sake. Math class got over as I went over to my locker. Math was my last class of the day, so I sighed and shut my locker, heading for the busses. God, my stomach hurt. I cut myself on my legs and stomach. I’ve been doing this for about a year now and nobody’s found out until recently. I also make myself throw up. My own brother hates me and he’s a freshman in high school. I know that our parents love me, but a voice inside my head… that voice. That voice is cruel. The voice is harsh. That voice is wrong and I know it. But I listen to it every single time. That’s when my parents forced me into therapy. When they forced me to take medication;
I have asthma; I’m allergic to peanuts, chocolate, and peaches. I’m also lactose intolerant. I wear glasses and I wear a size 12. I should be happy, right? My parents love me, my family loves me, and my niece and nephew love me. It’s not enough. I want to end my life; I just don’t want to do it yet.
Personal Journal Entry:
Well, my parents found out about what I’ve been doing they even want me to do rehab. Screw rehab. Screw therapy. Then the therapist suggested I join a group and keep a journal. Hn. I already journal, I told her. She smiled and told me that’s good, but I should keep a separate journal for group. I hate my group therapist. The rapist. Uh, hello?! Then my therapist, Shelly, suggested to my parents that I be put on medication. “Anything to make you get better” was my mom’s reasoning. My gramma just said, “You honestly think it’s going to help? She’s a teenager, you two. Medicating her? She’s going to hate you.” I do love my gramma.
My parents wanted to transfer me to another school, but I just asked what the point was. I just told them, “Send me away, that way you don’t have to deal or even look at me anymore”. Seriously? I just… I don’t even know what I want anymore. They make all my choices for me. They tell me what I can and can’t do. They took away my free will. They’re forcing food down my throat. They don’t trust me by myself. They took away my pencils and scissors.
I hate this. I hate being a prisoner. I hate my life. I hate my parents. I hate everything and everybody around me. At this point, I’m just going through the motions. I don’t’ even care what my parents think anymore. They should’ve just sent me away so they wouldn’t have to deal with me anymore. I don’t even write in my group journal. It’s stupid, pointless and a waste of one of my notebooks. I mean, seriously? Who actually writes in one of those things.
I’m nothing but a problem for my parents. I remember the times I was happy. And now? I’m tired of putting the smile on my face—even if it is false. I’m so sick of it. Maybe I’ll just run away. Maybe being here is the problem. Maybe I’ll just die or something. *sighs*
I don’t know what to do anymore. My self-esteem is nothing and I’m nothing. I’m just filled with emptiness. I’m tired—so tired. I’m 17 years old, not yet an adult, yet, I’m not a child. I’m in that awkward phase of life and if I actually make it, I’ll be like that for a while. I’m not a virgin anymore and I know that I’m beautiful. But that voice… I mentioned that voice earlier.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my dad—I really do. I just wish he would leave me the hell alone. Mom and Derek do. I understand that he’s concerned, but he should mind his own damn business. I mean, seriously. Who cares if I die? I know I don’t. I don’t have any issues about taking my own life.
Oh great, here he comes to make sure I’m still alive.
More later,
Artemis
            I closed my journal and shoved it under my pillow right when my dad came in. He just walked right on in—they all do. Nobody ever knocks anymore—they used to before. Before they took everything away from me;
“Just lock me up in the mental hospital. They take away all your rights there. Just like prison. I’m in prison and you’re the damn warden” I snarled as he sighed.
I hate this. Let me tell you. You have no idea how much I hate this. I wish everything would go away.

But tonight, it will all fade to black. Tonight is the night.

Az

Dad,

God, I hate doing this sentimental shit… It’s so girly and unnecessary. Anyway, I guess the reason we clash so much is that we’re so much alike… I’m more like you than I am mom in more ways than I can count. My power is illusion. I can make you feel and see whatever I want you too. Like last night, I made you feel like your organs were melting inside your body. I can’t do that with Emma, though. I have a good grip on my powers and I keep a tight lid on them.
The more you crowd me, the more I’m going to push you away. Let me do my own thing. I’m not going to be an alcoholic, or even a drug user. So what if I smoke pot occasionally? I smoke cigarettes and you don’t fucking care. So what if I go to parties with my friends. Big. Deal.
I have nothing more to say, I guess.
Your son,

Micah

Micah school

First Day of School
By: Micah

My alarm went off at 6:00 on the dot. I was not a morning person by any means, but that’s why God created coffee. For us people who aren’t morning people. I slapped my alarm off, got up, showered, and got dressed. Dante hated waking up early in the morning more than I did, so he tended to hibernate until late afternoon, or when I needed him. We would get our schedules at school this morning. Sometimes, I wish I had a twin to talk to. I mean, Kira and Kieran are close and they talk all the time. Oh well, it doesn’t really matter. I have Dante to talk too. I did catch up with Emma, though, over the summer. Turns out, we have our AP Chemistry class together, as well as our AP English—again. We agreed to be partners because we got along well last year for labs and stuff.
Kieran was still in his room when I knocked and walked in as he was pulling on his pants.
“So, how goes it?” I asked as he shrugged
Kieran also has snake bites and longish hair, only his is a dusty blonde with brown it in and he has emerald eyes. We’re both brothers, I’m older than him by a few months.
“Eh. Alright, I guess” He shrugged, pulling his shirt on as I raised an eyebrow
“So, gonna ask Rachelle out this year?” I laughed at his expression. Kieran will be a freshman this year. I knew that he had a thing for Rachelle, just like I had a thing for Emma.
“Shut up, man” He muttered as he grabbed his bag.
I grinned wolfishly as we headed downstairs for breakfast. Kieran’s on the football team and me? Nope. Nada. No sport for Micah. I did, however, have to bring my glasses with me. Everybody says that I look really good with them on, but I just shrugged them off. Anyway, I grabbed some toast and coffee for my breakfast.
“You should eat more, Micah” Shawn informed me, handing me a plate full of eggs, sausage and hash browns as I shook my head.
“Nah. I’ll take those sausages, though” I declined, but took the sausages, wrapping them in a paper towel. I sat at the table, yawning.
Now that Kieran’s a freshman, I told him I’d give him a ride if he wanted. He said that’d be cool, so now I’m just waiting on him.
***
I had Breaking Benjamin playing all the way to school and parked in my parking spot. We both headed inside to get our schedules and we ran into Emma and Rachelle. Turns out, they’re step sisters. Eh, who knew? Emma and I walked to our lockers (Which, as it turns out, was right next to each other) and talked about this and that.
“I heard Mr. Marshall is a tough teacher” she said, grabbing her AP Chemistry book as I rolled my eyes.
“You said that about Mr. McGraw. He turned out fine.”
“But that was AP BIOLOGY, Micah. This is Chemistry!” She stated as I once again rolled my eyes.
“Blah blah blah, Emma. Imagine what Human Anatomy and Physiology is going to be like.” I informed her as she covered her ears as I chuckled.
We arrived to our new classroom and sat next together. I took out a piece of paper and began to draw. Emma put her head on my shoulder, yawning. Her long brown hair was braided today as she watched me draw.
“Whatcha drawin?” She asked as I shrugged.
“I don’t know.” Was my response.
By the time I got done with my drawing, the final bell had rung. I put the sketch in my binder as the rest of the class shuffled in. Mr. Marshall walked in and looked at each of us.
“The person you’re sitting next to is going to be your lab partner for the rest of the year. You may not switch lab partners unless you absolutely cannot work together, then you may come see me.” He informed us. His gaze was sharp and penetrating as I felt Dante stir inside me. Calm down, Dante. I don’t like him Neither do I, but quit it I scolded mentally as I glanced over the stapled syllabus. Emma and I glanced at each other briefly before paying attention.
***
“He’s creepy” Was the first thing she said when he walked out of class.
            “No shit” was my reply
He assigned homework. He listed all of the assignments and lab stuff in the syllabus, as well as page numbers. Emma and I have Chemistry, English, Art, and lunch together. I’m sometimes weary of Emma, just because I’m waiting for her to betray me and find out that she’s only hanging out with me because of some stupid bet or dare. But I can read people’s thoughts, and she’s not like that.
Emma works at the popular little bakery downtown and I work at a comic book shop as well as the coffee shop across the street from her. I had to take on another job to help myself to pay bills. Seeing as I’m 16, they can only work me so many hours and they know that I’m in school. I’m stubborn and refuse to ask my parents for money, even if that means not having any time to me. I even sensed Dante’s worry, but I shoved it down.
***
Around lunch time, I was sitting outside under a tree. Emma took my notebook and placed a huge piece of pizza in front of me as I looked at her.
“You need to eat, Micah.” She informed as I sighed.
“I’m not hungry, I have coffee, Emma” She narrowed her eyes
“Micah James Conover! You will eat!” She snapped as I sighed, taking a huge bite out of the pizza. Giving her a “Happy yet” look as she sat next to me, eating her slice.
“Did you know that if you keep drinking coffee, soon enough it’ll turn into an appetite suppresser?” She informed me as my eyebrow rose.
“Of course I knew. Why do you think I drink coffee?” I asked, chuckling softly when she wacked me.
“Seriously, Micah…” She sighed, her voice dropping low enough so only I could hear it.
            “Does Dante know?”
She’s the only human who knew of Dante and what I am as I sighed.
            “Of course he does.”
We ate our lunch in a comfortable silence as we went back inside. I knew that people were staring and whispering. Why would Emma hang out with what they thought was the “emo boy” at school? Emma told off the head cheerleader, Alexis last year, because we were hanging out more. You don’t wanna get Emma angry. She’s told me stuff she said she would never tell anybody else. I told her about Dante and she said she wouldn’t tell anybody.
***
My last class of the day was English. Emma and I sat next to each other as the teacher went over her syllabus and what books we’ll be reading throughout the course of the year, and the first book we’re going to be reading is Jane Eyre by Jane Austin. Oh Joy. We got a book and a study guide. The rest of the class, we went over the first day of school crap.
***
I was loaded down with homework and I had my shift at the coffee shop tonight. I work from 4-8 and then I get to come home and work on all my homework. Sounds like fun, huh? Eh. My favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids and Warheads. I have at thing for sour candy and Emma knows it. We walked to my car with me as I unlocked it.
“What about your brother?” She asked as I shrugged
“He has football practice. His dad will pick him up.” I replied as we got in.
Emma and I grew up together. Well, that is, we’ve been in every class together. I knew she was interested in me, but I shrugged it off. Emma’s on the girls’ basketball team and the track team also. She’s kind of popular and I’m not. I pulled out of the school parking lot and drove around.
“Where did you wanna go?” I asked as she shrugged
I knew a place, so I took us there. It was a beautiful spot that nobody knew about as I turned off the car. We sat in a comfortable silence. I can tell you this: I’m no virgin. I have sex with girls. Granted, they’re one night stands, but I didn’t really care about them anyway. I undid my seat belt and went outside to sit on the hood of the car, Emma joined me shortly. I grabbed my pack of smokes as she knocked them out of my hand.
“What the fuck?” I asked as she narrowed her eyes
“Since when do you smoke?” She asked
            “Since last year”
            “They’ll kill you”
            “At least I’ll die happy”
The look in her eyes when I said that. Ah shit…
“Emma…” I said as she got off the car, picked up the smokes and thrusted them at me.
“Here, have your fucking cigarettes!” She yelled, storming to the passenger side as I grabbed her arm and whirled her around, smokes dropping as I kissed her, my hands on either side of her face. She slipped her arms around my neck and kissed me back. We pulled back a few minutes later, looking at each other.
“I was wondering when you were gonna do that”
“It was the only way you’d stop yelling at me… I’ve wanted to do that for a year” I confessed as she smiled.
            “Me too.”
We settled back on the hood of the car as we continued to make out. She was straddling my waist as I leaned back against the windshield, my hands on her hips, and her hands on my bare chest. She moaned as she began to rock her hips over my jean clad erection as I growled huskily, breaking off the kiss, my fangs out. I expected her to run, but instead she lightly touched them as I opened my mouth more, letting her touch them. Then she leaned down and kissed me, our hands entwined as my phone started going off. I reached for it, answering it.
“Hello?” Was my rough reply, watching Emma
“You have half hour to get to work tonight!” Alex’s voice yelled into my ear as I winced
Oh shit. I forgot.
“I’ll be there.” I snapped before I hung up, my lips trailing down Emma’s throat as she giggled.
“You working tonight?” she asked as I muttered a short ‘yes’.
I pulled back, smirking at the hickie on her neck. Turns out, she was working tonight too. We straightened up and got back in the car as I drove us back into town.
“Do you go up there often?” She asked as I shrugged
“Depends on the type of day I had or am having.” I replied.
I pulled in as we parked. We kissed as we both went to our jobs. The shift seemed to go by faster than all the others.
***
I picked Emma up on my way to school—she lives on Dallas Ave. She got in as I drove us to school.
“Did you get the homework done?” She asked as I shrugged
“Yeah, when I got home.” I answered, yawning as I drank my coffee.
She fiddled with the radio for a few minutes before finally putting in one of my Bullet for my Valentine CD’s. Emma loves all sorts of music, but you couldn’t tell that by looking at her.
“Did you eat this morning?” she asked as I rolled my eyes
“Yes, mom, I did” She smacked my arm as she laughed
“Wanna go off campus for lunch? We can go back to that spot yesterday” she suggested as I glanced at her. Today, she was wearing a button up shirt (that wasn’t buttoned) with a pastel blue tank top and she was wearing jean shorts and flip flops. Her hair was in a side pony today. She looked beautiful. Me? I’m wearing blue skinny jeans, a white Rob Zombie shirt and my converse along with my beanie. I reached down into the side of the door and pulled out some Sour Patch Kids and began eating them. Soon enough, the school came into sight.
***
Chemistry class was boring. We turned in our homework and he asked if anybody had any questions and a few people did. Emma’s head was resting on my arm again as I struggled to pay attention. Don’t get me wrong, I was writing down notes and stuff, but I was exhausted.
***
The classes that I didn’t have with Emma seemed to go by slower, in my opinion. But we texted each other and I told her that I would meet her out by my car at lunch time and we can head up there. She agreed, and right now, I was hungry for more than just food.
***
I was leaning up against my car when Emma came out, I put out my cigarette as we got in as I pulled out, driving to my spot. Breaking Benjamin playing from the CD player.
***
We got in the same position as we did last night—only this time we’re lying on the blanket on the ground. She was under me, our hands entwined as I grinded against her, her soft moans filling my ears, making Dante purr. It’s pretty easy to lose your sense of time up here, and that’s what I like about it. I trailed my lips down her neck, licking a the spot between her neck and shoulder, my fangs brushing over the spot as I shivered. Every instinct in me screaming to bite her. To make her mine. No. I want to give her the choice. I pulled back at looked down at her.
Her hair was mused as she panted, lips swollen from our kissing, face flushed, her tank top shoved up to expose her blue bra, her legs around my waist. I smirked faintly.
            “Kitty.”
Her eyes widened
“H-How did you know?” She asked as I laughed softly, nuzzling her neck as I heard her purr.
“I’ve always known, Emma. Cat-were’s give off a distinct smell. You… you smell like blueberries and apple cinnamon and it makes my mouth water” I murmured in her ear as she shivered, arching.
“Plus, you have cat like features. You walk silently, landing gracefully whenever you jump, and you love milk.” Laughter entered my voice at that last part as she smacked my chest as I rolled next to her, both laughing.
“We should get back…” She said, sitting up as she adjusted her clothes and fixed her hair. “I wanted you to bite me…Earlier…” She whispered, glancing at him as I tilted my head.
“You know what that means?” I asked as she nodded
            “Together forever, Micah.”
I had my parents do a check on Emma and her family and nothing bad turned up. Her dad’s on the were court, so my mom knows him and he’s also a chef, her mom’s a senior at a law firm, and she has 17 siblings. We gathered everything up as we headed back to school.
***
As I sat in my math class writing down notes, my phone started buzzing. I glanced down at my lap and found it was Kieran.
‘Can I get a ride?’
I glanced up at the teacher, who had his back to the board as I rolled my eyes.
‘No practice?’
Buzz.
‘There is. I was just curious.’
Internal sigh.
‘You need to get your driver’s license, little brother’
Buzz.
‘Yes or no, Micah’
I bit back a growl.
‘No. Emma and I are hanging out.’
Buzz
‘Fine’
I went back to writing down notes, my phone going back into my pocket. For the rest of the class period, I had to hold down Dante from finding Emma, pushing her up against the nearest wall and biting her, marking her.
***
After our last class, Emma and I drove back to the ranch. We didn’t have work, and we were going to do our homework together. I introduced her to my parents and to the twins (Mason and Kacey). We headed up to my room, her eyes wide as we walked down the hallway.
“This place is huge!” She exclaimed
“You have no idea” I muttered as we arrived at my door.
She opened the door as we walked in, I flicked on the lights. The walls were blue and black, I had my TV and entertainment center, my desk, bed, futon, and my own bathroom. My sketchbook were scattered on my coffee table. I was up late sketching. It’s what I do when I can’t get Dante to relax.
Emma wandered over to my desk and set her backpack down, I was right behind her, my hands trailing down her sides as I slipped off her button up shirt, tossing it to the floor. I turned on my stereo, the rock station coming on the radio as I turned her around, lifting her. Her legs wrapped around me as we kissed.
“W-what if they hear us?” She asked, taking off my beanie as I let her hair out
“Sound proofed room” I replied, ridding her of her shirt.
We got each other naked in a matter of minutes as I trailed my lips down her neck and between her heaving breasts. I loved and licked her nipples, suckling as she cried out, her hands burying in my hair. I parted her legs more and looked up at her, parting her.
“Are you a virgin?” I breathed, my mouth watering at the smell of her arousal, it made my dick harder.
“N-No…You?” She asked as I shook my head. I was far from a virgin.
I ate her out, teasing her, making her buck and writhe as she cried out, her grip on my hair tightening.
“Oh God. Yes! I’m going to…!” She mewled
I pushed her off the edge as she wailed, orgasming as I licked and swallowed it all. I shifted slightly, towering over her as I grabbed a condom, slipping it on, as she panted. We kissed and I nudged my way inside.
We made love for hours, and half way through, her kitty ears came out. She was so embarrassed and I told her it made her look more beautiful. My back had her scratch marks all over it and the last time we orgasmed together, we bit each other. I had to hold Dante back, but he roared in success as Emma collapsed on my chest, both of us gasping and sweaty. I moaned when I pulled out, getting rid of the condom as I gathered her close, both of us falling asleep in each other’s arms.
***
I awoke later that night to find Emma curled into me, sleeping. I nuzzled her neck, kissing her ear as she groaned.
“C’mon, baby…wake up. We need to shower” I whispered as she blinked up at my sleepily and yawned, stretching like a cat.
We showered and went down to the kitchen to grab something to eat before we headed back upstairs to do our homework. I turned the radio off as she turned the TV on to some horror movie.
“Did you see what Rachel was wearing today?” She asked as we pulled out our chemistry homework.
“Kind of hard not to. Her breasts were all but out of her shirt.”
“Mr. Marshall didn’t say anything about it!”
I snorted
            “They’re probably fucking”
She lightly wacked me as I shrugged
“You never know, babe” I stated as she sighed, nodding in agreement
We ate our pizza and did our homework. I helped her out with hers.
“How come you’re already done?” She asked as I shrugged
“This is easy to me for some reason. But I still struggle sometimes” I told her as she leaned into me.
***
Days passed and life went on, Emma and I kept growing closer and closer each day, but Dante was still restless. What’s the matter, Dante? You’ve been restless for days now. I need to get out and run, Micah. I didn’t have work until later tonight and I was at the house, so I went into the middle of the forest and let Dante out to run.
***
I got back to the house several hours later to find Emma talking with Kieran. I shifted and shoved on a pair of jeans and walked up to them. Emma smiled at me, kissing my chest when I slid my arm around her shoulders.
“Emma give you a ride?” I asked as he nodded
“It was raining earlier” He stated as I nodded
Oh, I know. I was out in it. Dante managed to tire himself out into hibernation, so I half ran, half walked all the way here. I was exhausted. I wanted to shower and crawl into bed and sleep.
“Did you still wanna go to the movies?” She asked as I sighed softly, shaking my head
“Sorry, baby… I’m exhausted” I said as we walked inside, she leaned into me as we headed up to my room.
“You look it. I’ll nap with you.”
I got my shower and dried off, I had the energy to pull on my boxers and make it to my bed. After that, I just crashed out. Emma snuggled herself close to me as I passed out, holding her close.

Micah

Micah

Dante
Micah’s reply to Dante
Micah’s thoughts

I look just like my father—except for the eyes. I have my mother’s blue eyes. I love my parents, don’t get me wrong. I have snake bites in my lower lip, my hair is black and I wear “gothic” or “scene/emo” clothes. Please. People are just afraid of what they don’t understand. That makes me an “easy target” and I’ve gotten in trouble for defending myself at school with the popular kids. My parents are on my side, but they did say not to fight. I listen to heavy metal and alternative rock, I go to concerts, and I play video games. I’m skinny and I work out. My dad and I are close; I’m half demon—or well, full, I guess. My demon and I get along good (and I’m not being sarcastic, he’s actually given me some good advice). His name is Dante.
I’m going to be a sophomore in high school and let me tell you being a freshman…—it was pretty boring. I mean, I’m going to be in all of the advanced classes. Dante says I need something more challenging and I told him wait until college. Dante’s a demon and a vampire; he has shoulder length black hair and bold, glowing silver eyes. He also has fangs. I’ve sketched him multiple times before and Emma says that Dante’s pretty cute (Humans. Pfft.) Sorry, Dante has to have his piece. Anyway, Emma was my lab partner for our AP Biology class. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. She’s also a Latina. She’s really funny, but out of my league. We’re just friends. This…”Friend zone”, am I correct, Micah? I sighed. Yes, Dante. You’re correct. I rolled my eyes.
Like I said above, come fall, I’m going to be taking all AP classes (Except PE, which isn’t AP), so 6 of them will be AP. Its summer vacation now and I sleep in, go to the skateboarding park and hang out with my friends. I go to summer concerts and I play my drums and my guitar. I have gages in my ears (meaning I have small holes in my lobes) to go along with my snake bites. All my clothes are from Hot Topic and my Aunt Cherry.
Right now, I’m lying on my bed, tossing a baseball up in the air, Breaking Benjamin playing from my stereo as I sighed. What’s the matter, Micah? Dante asked as I shrugged. Nothing. Just bored. I replied. You’re tired. I snored at his response as I yawned, rolling my eyes at his snicker. Grow up I snarked Bite me He snarked back as I sighed, rolling onto my side and falling asleep.
***
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I want school to start. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer, I just… I need something to do. I have a job—I work at the comic book shop. I get paid 15$ an hour (which, is really surprising, but it’s a really popular comic book shop) and a lot of people come in. Kira works at Starbucks, so I get coffee at a discount. I prefer my energy drinks (Red bull, Monster, Rock Stars, NOS). I paid for my own car, too. I own a black and red charger. It was a pretty penny, but I had enough for it and now I’m making payments on it. I love my car. I work on it so I don’t have to pay somebody to fix it for me. I’m a car junkie too.
I also have cell phone. Eh. Oh well. I’m not on any sports team and I told my mom I didn’t want to be on a team. She asked me why and I said sports are for popular kids. I explained my case better and she said she’ll make an exception to the rule. Though, I’m doing kick boxing and I’m really good. I’m one helluva fighter and everybody at school knows it, too. No, I’m NOT gay for god’s sake. I’m STRAIGHT! I like GIRLS! I have a few friends who are gay, and it doesn’t matter to me. I told them I’d support them and to fuck everybody else.
I’ve been having migraines a lot lately, so I went to talk to my mom about it.
“How long have they been lasting?” She asked, changing Mason’s diaper as I shrugged
“A month or so” I replied
“You probably need glasses. I’ll make you an appointment for tomorrow, okay?” She said as I nodded, thanking her.
Glasses! I thought as I sighed. Who knows… maybe they’ll make you look better I internally flipped Dante off as I popped a few pain killers.
***
Mom and I went to my appointment and I had to have glasses. Oh boy. So much fun. I rolled my eyes as I picked out my glasses. I had eye glasses insurance, so they would pay for my glasses.
“Do I have to wear them all the time?” I asked the doctor
“When do you start having the headaches?” He asked
“When I’m reading or doing my homework” I replied
“Then you only need them when you’re reading. Other than that, your vision is perfect. 20/20.”
I thanked him as mom and I headed home, my sunglasses on my face as she drove.
“I need to go grocery shopping. Wanna come?” She asked as I nodded
We headed to Costco as we walked in. I don’t really eat that much, I just mostly much and eat junk food. I’m one of those people who can’t gain weight from eating a bunch of candy and junk food—I get that from my mom. Just by looking at her, you can’t tell she just had twins. She has no baby fat on her—or any, to be exact. I put my hands in my pockets and trailed beside her.
“You can grab some pizzas, y’know” she said, watching me as I shrugged.
“Micah. Go. Grab some junk food” She ordered as I nodded, heading off to find some junk food.
I put a bunch of junk food into the cart, shoving my hands into my pockets again. I’m pretty quiet, considering I prefer to observe, but once you get to know me, I talk. No, I’m not the annoying person who talks all the time, but I tell you how it is. The eye doctor told me my glasses will be here in a few weeks and that they’ll call mom once they come in so we can go get them. Oh, and like half of my siblings, I’m a coffee addict. We all put the “blame” on our mother, considering she drinks the most coffee out of all of us.
***
Once we got home and unloaded the stuff, I had to head to work. I got in my car and drove back into town. I stopped at Starbucks and got my usual as I pulled into the parking lot at work. I locked my truck as I walked in. Full house tonight. Looks like it’s going to be busy. Good. I signed in and nodded to Brian, one of my co-workers.
            “Hey, Mikey!” He waved
God, I hated that nick-name.
“Dude, it’s MICAH” I said as he chuckled softly.
After I finished my coffee, I got to work.
***
When I got home from work, I wasn’t in the mood to talk to anybody. I just wanted to be left alone, so when my dad came into my room, all I did was shrug the entire time, wishing he would just go away. Soon enough, I fell back asleep.

Saige

Saige
By: Rio
Saige
When I had realized that it was now summer vacation, I almost jumped for joy. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer vacation, I really do. Means I get to work all summer and take time off to do something, to maybe travel. Unlike my nieces and my sibling (Kimber), I’m not going to summer camp. I’ve always wanted to go to Europe, maybe France or Germany. My sister, Willow, lives in Tokyo and my other sister, Ana, lives in London with my nieces. I already went to Vegas to check out the new mob museum—which, by the way, is amazing. I’ll be a freshman in high school come fall. Am I excited? Well, a little. I’ll be going to the same high school that (almost) all of my siblings went too, so the staff knows us all—which, to me, seems a little, strange. But oh well, not much I can do about that. I think it’s going to be weird going into summer because I’ve spent all year in school and doing homework, to now being able to sleep in and relax. I can finally start to sketch full time again! I’m so excited about that, I really am. During the summer time, I usually volunteer at a few places, so I might do that again. My favorite seasons are fall and winter, just because it gets colder outside. I’m like my mom in that way—I hate the summer and the hotness. The only time she can stand all the hotness is if she’s working out or on stage. Me? The only way that I can stand the heat is if I’m out jogging and playing sports. I love basketball and football. When my brothers get together during Thanksgiving, all of them play tackle football (Gabe is a professional football player; he’s the quarterback for the San Fran Sabers—the number 1 football team) and they let me play. Now that I’m older, like last Thanksgiving, we all played and I came out all bruised, but I told them that I was fine. I love my brothers. I have 11 brothers and not including me, 24 sisters. That makes 36 of us all in total. I’m close to all my siblings (even if they live in all different places)—all of them are very successful—except for Reagan. She doesn’t seem very happy, considering she got pregnant when she was 16 and she’s been trying to get her life back together ever since. Riley, on the other hand, is doing very well. She waited to have kids and get married until after college, just like our sister, Jinny.
A few of my siblings are visiting for a few days; Gabe, Junior, Liam, and I think Jay and Rose. I had already told you about Gabe, but Junior is a firefighter in the Miami area. Liam is a professional lacrosse player, Jay is a professional baseball player, and Rose is an elementary school teacher. Rose really loves her job and everybody loves her and I don’t blame them. Rose is really pretty and she just has one of those personalities to where you can’t help but like her. We’re all a close knit family and none of us would change that for anything. If one of us younger kids got into trouble or somebody was picking on us, one of the older siblings would stick up for us.
I don’t really have a favorite sibling. If I did, it would probably be Junior. I don’t really know why. Anyway, I was sitting on my bed, sketching when Rose knocked on the door and came in.
“Hey!” She greeted as I smiled faintly, greeting her back.
“How come you’re not downstairs with the rest of us?” She asked as I shrugged
“Because I see mom and the rest every day. This is your guys’ time with them.” I explained as she sat at the foot of my bed.
“I see. How was school this year?” She asked as I shrugged once again
“Pretty good. I passed with A’s and B’s.” I informed her as she smiled.
            “Congratulations.”
“How was your year?” I asked
“Good. I got a good bunch of students” She smiled and told me all about her year as I listened.
***
It was nice having some of the older kids back; means the house is full of life again (like it wasn’t before, but I love it when it’s like this). I watched everybody from my perch in the rafters as Junior threw a ball up at me as I caught it, looking down at him.
“C’mon down, baby.” He smiled at me as I jumped down, settling next to him.
Junior and I are really close. Probably closer than any of our other siblings—well, he’s close with all of our brothers, but that’s another story. Junior’s single and he’s very good looking. Whoa… Where did that come from? I shook my head and nestled close to him. He was wearing blue jeans with boots and a black tank top that stretched across his muscled chest. Stop it, Saige. He’s your brother! I scolded myself.

“You should stay with me in Miami this summer” He whispered in my ear, his southern drawl thick as I jumped faintly.
“You know I volunteer during the summers” I stated as he chuckled.
“Volunteer in Miami. They need it” He told me.
I had actually been looking into volunteering in Miami. The local food banks and Meals on Wheels needed some people and I loved doing that type of work. I’ve noticed the looks that Junior’s been giving me even though he tries to hide it. Should I tell him?

Junior
Well shit. I think she knows. I sighed softly and rolled my shoulders. I’ve noticed her checking me out and I couldn’t help but do it when she wasn’t looking—but Saige isn’t stupid. Far from it, actually. She deserves to be happy; damn these were-laws. We have the same mom, but a different dad, but we’re still siblings. Does that bother me? No. Does the age bother me? Eh. Not really. Then what’s the problem? I thought as I watched her talking with Rose. Those fucking dreams are driving me crazy, but I’ve been able to keep business and pleasure separate. Thank God. What I do is dangerous and she knows that. She doesn’t seem to be weirded out that her older brother wants to get into her pants (though she doesn’t know it). I have a feeling she knows.

I know that he wants me. Maybe I was mistaken when we were sleeping in his bed after falling asleep watching movies that he was pressed up hard against me and something was poking me. I had rolled out of bed and left before he woke up, just to avoid the embarrassment. It’s not uncomfortable or anything, it’s just a little surprising. Ember had fallen in love with Dawg (His real name is James), one of Mark’s younger brothers and they’re happily married. Mark wouldn’t speak to both of them for a few months before mom finally had enough. Now everybody is happy as can be.
Anyway, I was teasing and taunting Junior like I always do—it’s our playful banter. We both love it, but this time, it was different. We were out in the stables, getting our horses ready for a ride when it happened.
“Do you remember how to ride a horse?” I teased
“I remember” was his husky response
“How hard do you ride the horse?” I asked as he suddenly pushed me against the stall, leaning close to my ear

“You wanna know how hard, doll?” He growled huskily in my ear, “If you keep taunting and teasing me anymore, then I’ll bend you over my knee and paddle your little ass and make you scream my name. I’ll ride you hard.” With that, he pulled away, got on his horse and rode off. My face was beat red, but I was aroused and he knew it. My eyes were wide as I calmed down for a few minutes before joining him shortly.

I awoke at 8:30 this morning and started on my chores. I had the outside while Kimber had the inside. We switch it every day and then on the weekends, we both do inside and outside. Now that Justin and Kieran and Kira are older, they also have chores that they do. Anyway, I mowed the lawn this morning and weeded the gardens, cleaned out the stables, so that took a good few hours. But also, because the older kids are back, they’re doing chores too! It really helped a lot. My dad doesn’t know that Junior and I had sex last night—I wonder what his reaction is going to be. He’s pretty protective of me and our mom just said she saw it coming. My mom has visions and she knows things. She’s a great mom—I wouldn’t trade her for the world. Look at how all of us have turned out!
Right now, I just finished lunch and I’m playing football with my brothers—minus Junior—who was helping Mark out at the school (Being Ref). Junior’s real name is Mark William Calaway Jr. So, everybody just calls him Junior or MJ. I love playing football with my brothers, like I had said earlier. It’s funny to watch Gabe and Cena play against each other. Cena used to play football before he joined the WWE and Gabe’s been really awesome about it. He loves it—even from a young age. He has a gift for it and it’s paid off.

A half an hour later finds me doing my laundry. I had asked mom to keep a washer and dryer open for me and she did, so I’m doing my laundry so she can keep on doing the rest. Rose walked into the laundry room and smiled at me. She was wearing shorts and a tank top, her hair braided as she wore flip flops. I smiled back and pulled out my sketch book, finding a perch to sit on while I waited for my laundry to be done.
“I heard that your team won today” She said, settling across from me as I nodded, showing her the bruises.
“Damn, Saige…” She stated, laughing as I shrugged.
“Oh well. I love it. Gives me something to do” Was my reply
We talked for until my laundry was done about this and that, her job, school, vacations, guys, and other things sister’s talk about. I loved talking to Rose about stuff—just like I do all of my other sisters. Once I had my laundry in my laundry hamper, I headed upstairs; the entire window and patio/balcony/doors were open to air out the house, seeing as it was really breezy and coolish outside. My windows were open as I made my way upstairs. I opened my door, walked inside and when I shut it and turned back around, Junior was sitting on my bed, watching me.

I set my laundry hamper on the foot of my bed and began to fold and put my clothes away. The radio played softly in the background and my fish swam in his tank. I have a blue male beta fish and that was fine with me.
“You going to talk to me?” Junior’s southern drawl knocked me out of my musings as I shrugged.
“Talk to you about what?” I had asked, looking at him
“I don’t know. I watched you play today” He stated, watching me
His eyes were a sunset amber as he relaxed against my headboard.
            “Oh? We won.”
“I know. Good game” He stated as my lips twitched faintly as I thanked him.
My laptop started beeping as I wandered over to it and opened it. It was an email from Lulu, letting me know that she was going to visit. I responded and just left my laptop open. I have a MacBook Pro and I love it. I also have another Mac that used to be Frost’s. She let me have it after she had bought a new one when she and Alex moved. That’s sitting over in the other corner of my room, plugged in and with my tablet and other art supplies. She left the SAI paint art program on there, so I use that all the time. I also have a DA account (Deviantart account). My user name is Alice.deviantart.com. I know, it’s not very creative, but my pen name (For writing and what I sign my drawings with) is ‘Alice’. My favorite book/movie is Alice in Wonderland and I’ve always wanted a cat like the Cheshire.
I had let mom and Cena know that Lulu was stopping by (Even though she lives in Connecticut), she can do what mom can do—teleport. I can do it too, but it makes me really tired afterward. Once I finished putting my laundry away, I put the hamper back beside my dresser and settled at my art desk. The sun shone into my room as I felt a peace settle over me. Of course, Junior was still here and we had talked while I put my clothes away. I told him I was still thinking about going back to Miami with him, but I wasn’t sure yet. When I need to think about something, I always go to my art. For some reason, it relaxes me a lot. If my art doesn’t help, then I’ll go for a horseback ride. My horses name is Destiny and we have a close bond, I would like to think.
After booting up the Mac, I began to get lost in my thoughts.

I was shaken out of my thoughts several hours later by my dad pounding on the door. I looked at my drawing and realized how beautiful it was. A lot of attention to detail, a lot of attention to the entire frickin’ thing! I saved it and stretched, groaning softly as I rubbed my now numb butt. Walking over to the door, I opened it and smiled at him.
“Hey. What’s up?” I asked as he smiled faintly.
“Dinner” He informed me as my eyes widened.
“What time is it?” I asked
“Almost 6pm… Why?” He asked as my eyes widened more.
Holy. Crap. I had been drawing for six hours. Darn. That’s a new record! Though, I did get some thinking done. My poor dad… He doesn’t know what Junior and I had done last night, but I knew that I had to eventually tell him.

Shawn had made meat loaf for dinner. It was okay, not the best, but it was food and I was hungry. I just slathered ketchup and grape jelly on it and ate it. I’m allergic to Strawberries and pears, as well as seafood.

Have I told any of you how much I enjoy reading? I mean… I really love reading. The ranch has a built in library and the sad thing is, I’ve read every book in there. I mean, every book; isn’t that sad? Anyway, they just built a new bookstore—it’s HUGE! So many different levels (Kind of like Powell’s in Portland, OR); I’m so excited to go—Az is taking me and I know that I’ll be in there for a few hours at least. I think I’m in heaven!
***
I feel kind of bad for my dad; Az and I are hanging out and bonding and stuff, while my dad and I don’t really…have a bond. It’s awkward between us and I really wish that it wasn’t. Dad has a close bond with Frost, but I wonder why not with me? I take into account on what he likes and with Father’s Day on Sunday… What do I get him? A card? I’ll get him tickets to his favorite show! I spent what little allowance I had on the tickets (Which cost about…200$ and that’s cheap) and when I walked into the living room, Frost was handing him the same tickets with a smile on her face. I felt my heart drop and a sense of… betrayal and hurt came over me. I ripped the tickets and ran out of the house. Running as fast as my legs would carry me as I shifted to gain better ground. Tears flooded my eyes as I ran hard and fast. I didn’t know where I was running, but I was just running. He found me at a small river as I glared.
