I followed Jinny and Sam as she showed us the layout, savoring the peace the house exuded. Even the other guy seemed much more relaxed, calm in the house and the surrounding grounds. But most of all, Jana was relaxed and happy, and looking forward to having more room for her lab. She was even accepting her bond with Lucifer and seemed genuinely happy that he loved her. Even dinner was much more relaxed.
I watched Jinny as we got ready for bed that night, boxes still piled around the room, but the bed already set up. "I'm glad they were willing to work with us on the price for the house."
"Are you kidding? The house is perfect for us. And she knew how much Jana liked it when she first saw it." She smiled slightly as I slipped my arms around her. "And we've got enough room for the kids to play in, and the schools are good."
I smiled softly, kissing her hair. "Mm, they are. And there are plenty of kids around their age in the neighborhood. I heard Milly and her family are thinking of moving out here."
She leaned back into me, relaxing. "I'd heard. That would make her day to have them nearby. She loves them like family."
I chuckled softly. "She does. Milly and her are pretty dang close... She's glad she approached Jana, you can tell."
"Mhm. She sensed she could trust her." Jinny yawned slightly. "Mmm, I don't know about you, but I'm tired." We settled in bed, curled close together.
*!*!* *!*!* *!*!*
A few days passed as we unpacked and got settled in the house.
